Gonzales - 43 miles. Village replicas of 10 historic structures, including a blacksmith shop, broom factory, smokehouse, church building and museum. Tours, demonstrations and battle reenactments are offered throughout the year.

Brenham - 56 miles. The company began in 1907 with ice cream production of only two gallons a day.  Judge for yourself with a taste test during a self-guided experience.  Weekdays only. 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. includes the Observation Deck (closes at 2:00 p.m.), Visitor Center, Ice Cream Parlor, and Country Store.
